The Fusion Method is how we teach kids martial arts: six systems that build confidence. Tap a stripe to wrap it onto the belt.

Big energy isn't a problem. It just needs somewhere to go. Drills, pad work and games give kids a real outlet, then teach them how to switch into focus.
The school day ends and the screens come out. Fusion flips that. Kids trade the couch for movement, structure and trusted adults who expect their best.
Confidence isn't a personality trait. It's a skill, and it can be taught. Kids practice standing tall, making eye contact and speaking clearly until it feels natural.
Partner drills mean your child is never training alone. Kids learn to work together, cheer each other on, and walk out with real friends.
Kids learn real self-defense, and just as important, how to carry themselves so they're less likely to become a target. Voice first. Skills when they need them.
Staying calm when things get hard is a life skill. Kids train focus and self-control under a little pressure, so they can handle the big moments off the mat.
Kids need goals they can see. Drag the green tape along the belt, or tap a step.

No experience needed. Your child joins kids their own age, with a coach right beside them showing exactly what to do.
Every belt is a clear target. Earning one shows your child that practice pays off, and that lesson sticks long after class.
Little Warriors grow into Youth Warriors. Bigger kids, new skills, the same family cheering them on.
Older students step up to hold pads and help teach newer kids. The quiet kid who once stood in the back is now leading the drill.
Fusion belts go white, yellow, blue, red, brown and black. Each one stands for a life skill your kid grows into. Swipe to walk the wall.

Every journey starts here. White belt is about respect: for coaches, for teammates and for themselves. Kids learn to listen, follow directions and give their best effort.

New skills take practice. Yellow belt is about patience: sticking with a move until it clicks, and learning that progress comes one class at a time.

Partner drills mean kids depend on each other. Blue belt is about trust: working with teammates, keeping each other safe and earning their coaches’ confidence.

Bigger challenges call for courage. Red belt is about stepping up: trying harder techniques, speaking up and pushing through when it gets tough.

Brown belt is about discipline: showing up, putting in the reps and holding themselves to a higher standard, on and off the mat.

A black belt is a teacher. Black belt is about responsibility: using their skills wisely and helping the next kid on the mat grow.
I'm Megan Farris, owner and head instructor here at Fusion Martial Arts in Bloomington, Illinois. As a martial arts instructor with extensive experience training kids, there's nothing better than seeing them grow firsthand. More important than the martial arts skills they learn are the personal skills they develop and carry for life.
Martial arts is so much more than kicking, punching and earning the next colorful belt. It's about developing confidence, discipline, character, focus and respect. With every class we teach, your kids are growing in mind, body and character.
Martial arts gives kids instant, positive feedback. As they learn to focus on the core moves, they develop discipline and respect, and they can see and feel the difference right away. That builds confidence, self-awareness and self-respect. And of course, it's a ton of fun.
That's why I love teaching martial arts to kids in our community, and I know your kids are going to love training with us.

I’ve trained martial arts for nearly 25 years. I have earned a fourth-degree black belt in Kuk Sool Hapkido. I started getting to assist in teaching other kids when I got my first black belt at eight years old and haven’t stopped. Once I was in college, I had the opportunity to start my first 3 & 4-year-old Tiny Tigers class. My passion has always been to teach kids martial arts. I love getting to see the amazing growth of the students as they progress in belts and in life.
